David Sanchez started his career as a nurse in the Emergency Department in Phoenix, Arizona. It was the height of the opioid epidemic, and what he saw every shift — patients cycling through the system without real support — made it clear that the gap between clinical care and the people who needed it wasn't a medical problem. It was a communication problem.
That realization led him to establish a nonprofit addiction treatment center, helping connect patients with the care they needed through better outreach, clearer messaging, and a genuine understanding of what both providers and patients were going through.
Running that organization taught David something most marketers never learn firsthand: how healthcare organizations actually operate — the compliance requirements, the patient acquisition challenges, the weight of clinical decisions. When he saw how many marketing agencies fumbled those realities, Digitalis Medical was born.
